Hello there,

We are still in Thailand , this time in Chanthabury, to visit the gem market and Simon.
Chantabury is a small town famous for its fruits and its jewells.

We spent a couple of days in the Maneechan hotel before invading Simon's home and abusing his fridge and computer...sorry ;-)

Diving or not diving...We are debating making a run for the border in order to lenghten our stay in Thailand to complete a few more diving qualifications, that would allow us to take people down and dive for free!!!

Anyhow you should all shortly know when and where we are heading.

Now to make you all feel better, we had a big storm yesterday and the fuses went off, so know you know the sun does not always shine in Thailand, it was still very hot and we were extremely grateful for the air conditionning.

With love to you all,

Rob & Virginie

Gros bisous a tous,

Happy New Year 2007

hehe that is the first time I have had to write that down. Still feels odd, hard to believe how much we all talked about the millenium - and it seems such a long time ago. However Dad, I am married now (all be it no children) but I am immensely happy!

Anyway, we spent Hogmanay on the beach as planned down in Hua Hin - a coastal resort about two and half hours from Bkk. We met up with Simon B-L and Tom Bishop & Pem for a few days of fine food and less fine alcohol. We spent the countdown to midnight on a bar on the beach watching believe it or not a bunch of Harry Krishnas dancing round a bonfire. We had picked up some fireworks - that were about the loudest things any of us had ever come accross - which caused a little consternation around the camp fire but amused us none the less.

We spent a few more unplanned days there while my darling recovered from a rather nasty bout of tonsilitis. Not very pleasant, but I am glad to report she is much better now and back on her feet - even if still taking a few pills.

We have now arrived down in Koh Tao - turtle island down in the gulf of Thailand and plan to stay here for a week or so and fit in some more diving. Sadly as I write the heavens have opened in a rather unseasonal rainstorm, due to stay with us for a day or two, not to worry a day or two forced relaxation will do us no harm.

Love to all, take care Rob & Virginie
